adventures in stripes

I went adventuring with my boyfriend and a few friends after work last week and snapped these photos  by a pizza joint in the middle of nowhere. Hi-light of the trip was driving by a gorgeous lavender ranch, it smelled and looked incredible, definitely going to drive back in that direction again one of these days and find those lavender fields. I'm currently dressing for a gnarly heat wave. It's going to be 115 this weekend here! I AM SO NOT DOWN. Going to be hiding away in air conditioned anywheres the whole weekend. Must find a way to beat the heat!

Favorite beanie - A drugstore near you (in my case, CVS)
Tank - 90s vintage, Salvation Army
Backpack - Salvation Army
Overalls - Lulus.com (get them here.)

Super duper comfy outfit, these overalls are yet another purchase I've made at work. I seriously can't even express how much I adore my job, I basically get to play dress up with real life dolls all day and my team is amazing aaand the models I've gotten to work with so far have all been really sweet and awesome. SO BLESSED. Today we didn't photo shoot so I prepared the new arrivals for tomorrow's shoot and took instagram pictures. How rad is that. Aaaaanyyways, I should stop before I get too carried away being excited about my job. I'm going to make a post one of these days of some pics I've snapped at work. Welp, that's all folks!

Hope you're all having lovely weeks, summmaaaaaaaa is here!! :-) :-) :-)

heat wave

Let me present to you the raddest, comfiest pants I was so stoked to find at Salvation Army.  And this dope shirt that was gifted to me by Cara, the head stylist at Lulu*s. Studio perks! Such a perfect outfit for adventuring around town.

I'm pretty sure it's in the 90s outside right now so I'm hiding away in my room with the fan on high. I can't believe it's already June, but I am so damn excited to go to the swimming holes out here and enjoy enjoy enjoy. It's going to be an amazing summer, I can feel it! In about a month I'm heading to New York to see my fam. Spending the 4th of July there and I'll get to see my sister, 3 brothers, all my adorable nieces and nephews and dad! (Who I haven't seen in almost a year, so happy to finally get to see him AHHH!!!!) In addition to that I need to drive to SF because I'm flying out of SFO to get there so I'll get to see my moms and my grandparents from China are visiting her so I'll get to see them too and I haven't seen them since I was a little little kid. I never ever get to be around so much family, I can't believe it's happening in a month, already counting down the days!
Alrighty, hope everyone has a fab weekend, byyeeeeeeeee :-)

streaming sleep

Keeping this short and simple since I'm just moments away from crashing. Such a struggle to stay awake through work today but I made it through and now I'm about to experience a glorious night of rest. Wore this on a casual date to the park and to get froyo (frozen yogurt) <- felt like I needed to clarify that, most of my friends call it froyo but since I've moved to Chico no one seems to get what I'm trying to say when I say froyo instead of frozen yogurt. I'm rambling because I'm sleepy so off to dream land I go, goodnight lovelies <3

Lucid Dreaming

Went on a stroll through the local college here and I was blown away by all the beautiful nature around. Stopped to snap a few shots. It was a warm breezy day, the weather has been so gorgeous lately.

Top - Vintage/Thrifted
Skirt - Lolita
Shoes - Converse
Sunglasses - Burberry

I really adore colors and wearing colorful outfits. It really brightens up my mood, I really dig burnt orange and absolutely adore the print on this shirt I found at Salvation Army. I found the skirt in a Buffalo Exchange in the Mission in SF. The majority of my closet is from thrift stores, I used to go thrifting first thing every Wednesday (and probably more often than that). I've always said thrift stores are like my church. Anyways, I'm getting more used to remembering to take pictures of my outfits and I'm really enjoying sharing them.

trippy vibes

I'm making it a point to find all the cool artsy stuff in my new town and love love love this Beatles mural I found as well as an astronaut painting that I discovered in downtown.  So dope! And also so stoked to share another outfit post with y'all, think I'm starting to get the hang of this.

That jacket means so much to me. It was my dad's when he used to race corvette's in the 80's, it's covered in the sickest patches. Definitely making a post on that jacket soon.

  • Mezon - Crop Tank
  • American Rag - Jacket
  • Liz Claiborne - High Waisted Pants
  • High Top Converse

My boyfriend (pictured above) is my unofficial photographer. I'm actually pretty decent with photography and have been teaching him and he's catching on quickly. Yay! He's been a good sport about it and I'm really happy that he's supportive of me and this blog.
This was a really fun outfit shoot, we walked around downtown and he showed me dope murals. I'm super stoked about this outfit too, the Mezon tank I'm wearing is SO comfy and so are those pants. I love finding Liz Claiborne clothing in thrift stores, it's like vintage gold to me!  Also got that necklace from a guy on the street, and it's one of my favorites now. It has a little piece of black tourmaline in it and I'm obsessed. I always carry a little black tourmaline with me in my bag but now I have some to wear around my neck! How lucky am I! I've been having wonderful days lately, the weather has been beautiful and so have the humans, I'm hoping these lovely days keep on rolling through. I have a good feeling about life, good things are to come. Hope all of you have been feeling the good vibes too!

psychedelic pantalones

Hi all! This look is a few months old. Here I am in late fall going out as comfy as I could trying to not look like I'm in my pajamas. I am notorious for my comfy wardrobe, I like it when my outfit feels more like a second skin rather than a few extra layers, you feel me? This was at the height of my experimental hair phase, I had a ton of fun mushing random colors into my hair and seeing how it turned out. It was always a mystery and I was always pleasantly surprised.

What I'm Wearing:
  • Sheer Blouse - Free People
  • Cotton Tie Dye Pants - Thrifted from Salvation Army

But dude..

I've always so inspired by the people closest to me, my sister growing up mainly because she's 8 years my elder and we never lived together. The times I had with her growing up were few and cherished and I wanted to be exactly like her. She had this grungy gothy look that were perfection to me in my elementary school years and have stuck with me since. The Carhartt beanie is so comfy, and taken from my boyfriend. The flannel's from my father's closet. He's never seeing that thing again. I love wearing things from my loved ones, it keeps them close.

                What I'm Wearing:
  • boyfriend's beanie
  • dad's flannel
  • cashmere cardigan
  • thrifted leopart shirt
  • thrifted plaid skirt
  • thrifted leather backpack
  • Urban Outfitters socks
  • T.U.K. creepers

And so it begins..

Hello! I am so thrilled to start sharing my style, thoughts, rambles, art, etc with the interwebs and figured the best way to start should be with my favorite dress.  I found this beautiful sheer dress at a Salvation Army in San Jose. The necklace I absolutely adore, got it from Urban Outfitters. I'm obsessed with anything cat-related (hence the nickname Meowchelle I got in high school).
Anyhoo, I'm super stoked to be blogging, I feel it's the beginning of a beautiful thing.
